Even though, I have not been paying attention to my well-being due to my busy life. These 30 practical self-care tips for busy people has changed my life for good and has helped me to get ahead of fatigue and stress.
So, with a busy schedule each week as a mother of 2, wife and a mental health professional, oh! I forgot to mention
Finding time to myself is luxury though I do try to treat myself from time to time. I realised that even socialising is seems to be a struggle these days. In the next paragraph, I will share what I think self-care is and discuss my 30 practical self-care tips for busy people like you.
What is Self-Care?
Self-care to me is those practical actions or course you take to maintain and improve your well-being.

Moreover, Self-care requires a holistic approach which involves taking care of your body, soul and mind. As a matter of fact, self-care is not a choice but a necessity. If you neglect your self-care, you will pay one way or the other.
So, find time to incorporate self-care routine into your day to day living. It does pay off in the end. With this monstrous flu experience, I have realised how important it is to ensure I look after myself.
Although, I tend to put my self -care last on the list, discovering these tips has changed my mind about how I look after myself. I have learned to practise these 30 self-care tips listed below to ensure my well-being is sound.
Obviously, you are not expected to do all this in one a week, I had a check-list of these self-care tips and aimed to achieve them within a month.

How To Practice Self Care
When all hell is breaking loose in my life, and It feels like everything is falling apart. Prayer has always worked for me even though it may not be your some people`s way of stress-busting. It has certainly been my goto for the most difficult time of my life.
I know we all have hectic schedules, but we need to sleep to refresh and rejuvenate, enabling us to function properly in our day to day lives. I find that if I haven’t had a proper sleep for a couple of days, my energy level diminishes, and I get very irritable. So, I try my best to ensure I get enough sleep in the next couple of days to balance it out. Sometimes, when I find I struggle to get off to sleep, I use my sleep hygiene tips. 3. Read a book or magazine
Grab your favourite book or magazine and dig in.
4.watch a movie
This is when my microwave popcorn comes handy on my me- day. I always like to stock up on microwave popcorn for days like this. Put on your favourite movie and snuggle up on your bed or Sofa’s comfy wherever you find comfortable.
5.Spend time with your loved one or friends
Finding time to relax with my loved ones or friends is luxury, so I make the most of it when I see the time. It does not have to be a whole day or weekend for it to count. For those with a time constraint, a few hours with your loved ones or friends can relieve stress.
6. Cook your favourite food
Ahh! I find cooking so therapeutic. I know this is not for everyone, but I relish that feeling you get when you sit down to enjoy your cooked meal.
7 Go for a walk
Walking has many health benefits and can play a major role in improving your mood. Not only that, it helps me to take a break from focusing on my worries, getting away from my stressful environment and breathing the air.
8. Go window shopping/retail theraphy
Well, you have to restrain me from this particular self-care tip because I love shopping. This here is one of my favourite thing to do when I`m so stressed.
9. Drink a herbal tea
Herbal tea is relaxing. I recently discovered this organic herbal tea. From this collection, my favourites are Night-Time. 10. Listen to music
Relax and chill with some soothing music. I definitely recommend this as it is one of my Practical self-care tips.
11. Get a massage
Yeah! one of my self-care treats. It helps to ease my muscles pain, soothe and relax my body.
12. Go for a Manicure/ Pedicure
There is nothing like being pampered. So relaxing and refreshing. it may be pricey but remember there is only one you so give yourself a treat.
13. Take a train/bus ride to nowhere
As a result of my time constraint, I have not had time to enjoy my train/ bus ride to nowhere in a long time. You should definitely give this a try. it will enable you time to reflect and take stock of life.
Taking time to meditate even if it is for a few minutes in a day would help to reduce stress and anxiety.
15. Go swimming
It is well known that swimming is a good activity with various health benefits, so go for a deep and relax.
16. Turn off your phone for an hour
Do you remember the last time you switched off from social media?. Being constantly plugged to your phone can impact your stress responses system. So, switch off and breathe.
17.Dress up and take photos
Even though I don’t have an event to attend, I enjoy dressing up and taking photos. So, just dress up and take a selfie.
18. Get your hair done
That feeling you get when someone is washing your hair. So good…… visit your hairdresser and enjoy the moment.
19. Watch comedy videos and laugh
I just love to laugh so when I’d have time. I love to watch comedy videos, and it does the trick for me. Laughter is definitely medicine for the soul.
Volunteer on any cause you believe in. it will leave feeling fulfiled and happy.
Unquestionably, exercise is highly recommended as a self-care tip. Finding a routine that works and fits into your life helps to make it sustainable. Even if it is for a few minutes each day. Exercise improves your mood, reduces stress, to name a few.
22. Take your kids to the playground
Without a doubt, I feel young again whenever I play with my kids on the playground. If you have kids, take them out to the playground and enjoy the moment because I heard they grow up so fast.
23. Date night with your partner
Spending quality time with your partner will definitely improve your relationship and well-being. So, if you and your partner are overworked and feeling drained. Steal some time and do something together to keep your relationship on track. Even though we love our kids, my hubby and I try to make sure we spend quality time together without the kids.
24. Go to bed early
Wish I did this most days, but with a busy schedule, it proves impossible sometimes. However, I find I`m full of energy when I sleep early.
25.write a Journal
I find putting my thoughts and feelings where I can see so liberating. It’s really my power tool. I don’t consider myself a good writer, but I have a cause for my passion, so I started blogging. My aim is to reach and empower people who are downtrodden and be a voice to the voiceless with my platform.
26. Take a hot relaxing bath to soak the stress way
Whenever I feel very stressed, taking a hot relaxing bath leaves me feeling rejuvenated. So, light the candle with soft music in the background and let the stress disappear.
27. Try a new hobby
I have taken up vegetable planting because I like to watch things grow. My kids are so excited about my new found hobby. Here is the photo of my cherry tomatoes. 28. Sing out loud and dance to your favourite tune
Who doesn’t like karaoke?. Sing your heart out and dance away stress. Like people always say happiness is free, so go for it.
29. Buy yourself a gift
I believe I work too hard, so I reward myself with a gift no matter how inexpensive it is.
