Maintaining motivation can be challenging without the right support, skills or focused goal. Becoming successful in any particular area requires motivation and determination. One of my personal inspirational, motivational quotes for success is knowing your purpose gives you the reason to continue the fight.
So, becoming successful in any area of your life requires persistence and hard work, even though you do not see an immediate result. To be honest, I have experienced low days and times I want to give up blogging, but when I remember my purpose and my desire to share with others, I get fired up again.
You see, anyone can get stuck and give up if they don’t have a reason or a cause they feel accountable to. So, tell me, do you have a purpose in life? Have you discovered that purpose that drives you to continue with life even when things aren’t going as planned?

Some of us who have made New Year resolutions in January if not determined will give up. It’s tough to train your mind to do new things.
Even people with optimistic attitude do burn out sometimes. Keep reading for some strategies on how to get back on track.

Motivation is an answer to maintaining almost every aspect of life. We are going to look into ways we can stay motivated.
Motivation to Lose weight
At the beginning of last year, I planned to lose 5 kg to stay healthy by eating healthier food. However, I realised that I could not keep up with it because I was not eating the same meal with my family, so I stopped.
So, I applied these motivation strategies I mentioned below and achieved my desired weight loss goal. The motivation to lose weight was my end goal, and it kept me going. Do you have a desired goal this year, if you have not set a goal yet, I will encourage you to take a pen and paper and make a start?
There are no quick fixes in achieving a lifelong goal. Staying motivated is a gradual process that requires time and consistency. I wanted to quit but having the right information and support kept me grounded with my set goals.
Motivation to Work out
In my journey to getting healthier and losing weight, I had to exercise too. It was very challenging for me with a young family, full-time work and blogging.
So, I changed my routine and ensure I went to bed on time and got up 30 minutes earlier to work out before starting my day. When I remember my purpose, the motivation to continue to work out becomes a lifestyle.

1. Write down your goals
Do you have a goal?
If not STOP and THINK about something you have been putting off for a long time that can improve the quality of life when achieved. Having a goal is one thing and knowing how to go about it is another.
If you know your goal, go ahead and write it down in your journal book or scrapbook. I find writing down my goals keeps me accountable and acts as a reminder that I can always revisit to monitor my progress.
Writing down your goals helps to bring reality, and with my photographic memory if you like me; it remains stuck in my mind.
2. Ask yourself the purpose for your set goals
Now you have your goals written down in a place you can revisit from time to time.
Remind yourself of the purpose behind your set goals. Are you able to articulate the reason now? Then, you are on the right track. I asked this question because you are more likely to stay committed when you can remember the reason.
Furthermore, this will enhance your motivation to accomplish your goals.
3. Break down your goals into smaller steps
Great! You made it this far.
Now that you have goals written down and can you recall your purpose. Let’s dive into partitioning your goals into smaller steps to avoid you feeling inundated. Having things in smaller steps makes it obtainable and reassuring.
If you like me, I have this sense of satisfaction when I tick off the achieved goals for the set time. Physically ticking it off on my journal, shows me progress so it means I can move on the next step. Another way of breaking down goals into smaller steps can be by using To-do-list.
To-Do-List can help you to prioritize your tasks promptly.
Moreover, it helps create order in things you have set out to do and keep your motivation afresh. I don’t know about you, but my stress level increases when things are not in order.
So, if To-do-list is not for you, find a system that what works. I suppose you can see the benefits of breaking down tasks to make it attainable.
4. Recognize your progress
I’m sure by now, you have some tasks ticked off your list when you look back at your set goals for last year. This will definitely improve your motivation.
Well done!. Now let’s go back and remember your purpose and goals. Do you see how far you have come?. It is important to track your achievement when you have set goals.
Though you experienced challenges along the way to achieving the goals you persisted. Your persistence was encouraged because you can recognise your progress.
If you fail to recognise your effort and progress, you could be more likely to be stirred off course. Go ahead! Take pride in your accomplishments and share them with others. Everyone feels valued when recognised by those around them for a good course.
When recognizing your progress, take time to look at a bigger picture and appreciate where you are and what is left to be done. For example, when I began my weight loss journey, I weighed myself and wrote down my desired goal.
During my weight loss journey, one of the tools I used was my fitness smartwatch which kept track of my calories and how much I left to achieve my desired weight.
Staying Focus on your Goals
Staying focused and motivated requires patience which a lot of us struggles with. We often push ourselves to finish tasks at once but get frustrated when we feel overwhelmed.
5. Reward yourself
Grand!. you didn’t think you will reach this point. Well, you made it.

Now that you can keep your mind on your purpose and goals. Nevertheless, some ups and downs, you held tight focusing on your end goal.
It is time to reward your hard work. People underestimate the power of rewards. Rewards encourage you to put efforts into your set goals.
Don’t wait to reach the end of your goals to earn a reward. Every little task completed deserved a reward.
Go ahead and treat yourself ….. What will be your TREATS?
Everyone likes treats and these motivation strategies are powerful and helped my motivation to succeed in relevant areas.
6. Know Your Limitation
You have rewarded yourself for your little victories but still feels you could have done more.
Don’t beat up yourself!!!
No one can do all things, no matter how talented or educated they may seem. So, accept your limitations but focus on it.
I believe it takes a powerful person to accept your limitations.
Sometimes, we focus on our fears of how others would perceive our progress.
This isn’t the time to lose focus. FOCUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My best motivation quote for when I want to regain focus or when I’m feeling fearful is I’m a work in progress, and my journey is unique, so I’m not going to worry about others opinions about me.
Apart from recognising your limitation. Observe those who are on the journey with you for support. Also, don’t overestimate your abilities. In other words, get help if you need to. This will indeed reduce the chances of burning out.
7. Seek support
This particular strategy is effective when you can identify your limitations. There is no shame in admitting your shortcomings and seeking support. It doesn’t matter how many times you fail in trying to achieve a particular goal.
The right support and skills set will make you more confident, and you feel will be motivated to carry out your tasks. As we know that knowledge is power. So, invest in extra courses; read books even hire an expert to coach you if you have to.
One of my clients told me she stopped smoking by reading a self-help book so explore other areas for motivation.
8. Recruit an accountable partner
This strategy kept me grounded and motivated, to be honest. So, I would highly recommend it.
I had a work colleague who was on my case throughout my weight loss journey. We scheduled weighing plans and ate lunch most times together to keep track of my healthy eating routine. Somehow I was accountable to her and that helped me to stay focused.
In conclusion, I would like to remind you to keep the bigger picture in mind. You can succeed in any area of your life with these simple strategies mentioned above.
